Morin moment
J. Whidden, in his letter of Nov. 26, presents the flip side of issues I wrote about in a previous letter. I had commented that it should'nt matter to anyone if gay people wanted to have a wedding ceremony. Mr. Whidden points out that marriage should be between a man and a woman. I happen to believe that too, Mr. Whidden. Where we differ is that I don't think its up to you and I to decide the issue for someone else. How can you say the issue is being forced upon us, when it has nothing to do with us in the first place? Mr. Whidden goes on to accuse me and those who share my philosophy of "being on the wrong side of everything critical to our nations future" How tiresome this attitude is becoming.
Can approximately 53 million Americans be so misguided? Does Mr. Whidden
actually believe that we should all be cloned to march in lockstep with the self righteous right on every issue? Why not eliminate the two pary system alltogether and have just one pary? He actually has the gall to say, "it is'nt the right who engages in attacks, it is the left who puts down anyone who disagrees with their position". Has he been blind to the conservative editorials that appear
every single day that do just that? Both sides do that, Mr. Whidden, BOTH sides. Can't we at least agree on that? Once the one party system is in place and only One opinion is germaine, we can sit back and read the comics in peace.
Well that's my "Morin moment" for to-day, Mr. Whidden. I trust that you have once again been properly "entertained.
