Gone to the dogs

Picture this scenario. At seven AM this morning I got up to feed Pepper and let him out. As you know, B's. mother and her 12 pound, 14 year old Pekenese is visiting with us. I figured as long as Pepper was out, I'd let Precious out as well....forgetting that Precious tends to run off....Well that's what she did....in the pouring rain. I am clad in shortie pyjamas, but I thought I'd be able to catch the little
bugger right away. I was wrong. She ran out of the yard, up the street and into a neighbors yard with me in hot pursuit in the rain. Half way up the road my shortie shorts slipped down and my a** was flapping in the breeze....in the rain. I finally caught up with her, picked her up and carried her back home with my lungs rasping like a goddamed garbage disposal. I reached the back door of the house just in time to see my neighbors black lab slip into our kitchen and tear into Peppers dog food that I had laid out for him. Poor Pepper was tied up in the back yard and just stood there and barked........in the rain. I finally managed to get the invading mutt out of the house and myself into a dry pair of jammies....long pants this time. You never know when you'll be called upon to go jogging...in the rain.
