News
Sometimes the things that dominate the news on a given day is mind boggling. We have become so used to the on-going killing in Iraq that we hardly re-act in horror any more. Lately one of the top stories has been the saga of the runaway bride to be and her involving law enforcement in a trumped-up abduction scam. I have heard it often said that outr attention spans tend to be on the short side, but this is ridiculous. It looks more and more like everyone justs wants that Iraq debacle to just go away, because any hope of any gains for this country to come of it is just so much wishful
thinking. Okay, the Iraqi people got to cast their votes and at first glance that seemed to be a good thing, until it became apparent that most of the people they voted for want our involvement ended and our troops to be gone. Nary a pro American government in sight. Even that would be all well and good if the various political factions could come to-gether and establish a peaceful coalition that would stabilize the country. More wishful thinking...so far.
I guess you can't really blame the media for seeking other sources of newsworthy events; anything to take our minds of the seemingly never ending tragedy coming to us live from the Middleast every single day. Well, as the old cliche goes, 'there's no use crying over spilt milk', there's bound to be an up-lifting news event coming down the pike eventually. Maybe it will be the groom to be making a getaway and claimin he was abducted by aliens.
Whatever.
