Cal Thomas

Cal Thomas, in his column, " Americans can learn lessons from the French", has once again demonstrated how far wrong a right wing zealot can swing. He blames the rioting in France on the increased immigration of Muslims from North Africa, an area
once colonized by the French. He says these immigrants, who bear French citizenship, contribute to the undermining of of French culture and stability. He fails to mention that the root cause of the rioting has to do with bigotry and being treated little second class citizens with little or no job opportunites. Sound familiar? He goes on to say that America will suffer the same fate and attributes this in part to the fact that there has been an increase in the building of mosques in this country, some of which adheres to the Wahhabi sect of Islam, the religion's most puritanical and violent wing. Brings to mind professional Christian Pat Robertson, who advocated the assasination of The Venezuelan president. Thomas goes on to say, and I quote", "let's peacfully and lovingly share 'our far better religeous and cultural message with them". How kind of him. As if Christian skirts were always clean and free of religeous predjudice. While we must always speak out against destructive and deadly violence
in our societies, we must also be prepared to address the root causes and deal with them regardless of where the buck stops. Mr. Thomas speaks of the 'tame' moslems
"who have been converted and now live peacful and productive lives". I do believe that many of them lived peacfull and productive lives while they were still moslems.
Mr. Thomas has a strange way of presenting his "christian values". Not so loving.
Not so peacful.
