Letter to the editor

There are those who want General Murtha court martialed for advocating bringing our troops home from Iraq. I believe we should supercede that by impeaching and or court martialing the brain- dead morons who sent them there in the first place, starting at the very top rung of the ladder. The reports we are getting of the killing of unarmed women and children by obviously poorly trained and undisciplined soldiers and marines is heart breaking and devastating, especially for the innocent majority of service personnel struggling to maintain the honor of our military in that miserable place. It gets down to the lack of direction and preparation that's been obvious from the onset. I heard a radio commentator say, "so what"? when he was told about the pregnant woman who was shot to death by a jittery sentry when she she inadvertantly got in the wrong lane. Sure, these things happen, but "so what"? All of a sudden crash courses in military field behaviour are cropping up all over Iraq and in the United States. Well, better now than never, Mr. Rumsfeld, but in case you missed the headlines, the horse has left the barn....again.
