Are we really serious?
There is a growing suspicion among some people that our determination to capture or kill Osama Bin Laden is somewhat less than enthusiastic. The question is asked, "how is it possible that this one man can continue to deliver his messages over the internet and appear to be operating at will wherever and when ever he pleases with seeming impunity?" When you consider the technology we have at hand to practially pin point the movement of a fly from the satellite cameras orbiting the earth, you have to wonder why we haven't been able to track this man down. The question is, do we really want to? Would his death or capture incite his followers to wreak even more havoc upon an already weary populace?
Of course if this is the reason Osama remains free to spout his venom to his faithful followers and is rapidly becoming their rosetta stone and Godhead rolled into one, we are in a lot deeper trouble than we bargained for. Russian president Putkin has sent in a hit team to avenge the deaths of those Russian embassy workers. It will be interesting to see if they succeed. If they do, we'll need to take a real hard look at the efficiency of our military leaders, or perhaps more relevant, how badly we want to send Osama on his way to Paradise, virgins not withstanding.
