Letter to the editor

Billy O'Reilly, in his recent column regarding the Emmy awards ceremony, comments on how "the smug Hollywood elite embarasses itself", He refers of course, to the participating performers who are unashamedly liberal in their political views. That alone is enough to make them fodder for O'reilly's sneering put-downs. I wonder if it ever dawns on this man how embarassingly smug he sounds when he spouts off, using the word 'liberal' throughout his column like a satanical mantra. He mocks performers like George Clooney and Barbara Streisand and wants to know what they know about the "Islamic Brotherhood" and how "exactly did the Pakistani secret police broke a captured Al-Qaida big shot". O'reilly remains 'stuck on stupid' when he consistantly trashes anybody who doesn't tap dance to his conservative agenda. Bill! Please! Try to absorb this! Most Americans do NOT, repeat, do NOT approve of the handling of the war in Iraq, even those of us who DON'T know how the Packistani secret police broke that Al-Qaida captive. Maybe our president can glean some ideas from them on how to capture Ossama Bin Ladin. Even Barbara Streisand and George Clooney would applaud that event.
