The face of fear

It was a rare thing to see, I will admit, but the president did not exude his usual confident and sometimes smug attitude when he outlined his new course in Iraq. Regardless of how opposed to the war and how it's been handled, no one wants to see the mission fail. Almost since the occupation of the country there have been calls for additional troops, but the president stubbornly refused to listen, as did his close advisors. Well that's water over the dam now and there's no need to harp on it. The question is, will there still be time to reverse the course, or will it be too little too late? All we can do is hope for the best. Monday morning quarter backing, aside, if we can at least salvage some important lessons from this venture, it will not have been all in vain. For the sake of those who go in harms way, let it be, let it be.
