The truth hurts
I do not take kindly to other countries vilifying the United States and I take particular offense when those countries have dismal track records of their own in the field of International relations. In this particular case I refer to Vladimir Putin's accusation that U.S. Policy is inciting other countries to seek nuclear weapons. We certainly hope this isn't the case, but in view of all that's happened since 9/11, who can say for sure? The United States is feverishly attempting to compile evidence that Iran is meddling in Iraq affairs. I hope we have better luck than we did finding WMD's in Iraq before and after we invaded that country. Come to think of it, that, in itself can be interpreted as "meddling in Irag affairs".... or am I just being naive?
Meddling in other countries affairs seems to have become a national past time for us and I'm having a hard time remembering the last time it came to any good. Calling the kettle black in Iran's case may be a preliminary exercise in leading up to confrontation with that country and that, in my opinion, would put a cap on a continuing saga of stupid ventures. As much as I hate seeing this country vilified and disrespected by "friends" and enemies alike, I hate even more our seeming willingness to give them cause. When you get past the smoke and mirrors and sound bites, the bottom line is Armageddon in progress.
