Perish the thought
While the President and his coat tail hangees are desperately seeking a new way forward that has a half way chance to succeed, might it be prudent to suggest that he inject the word 'straight' into the phrase?
We have been lied to so often since this whole thing started that we would probably fail to recognize the truth if it fell on us. The war hawks have already dragged Jane "Hanoi" back on stage to ridicule and spit on. She admittedly did a stupid and injurious thing by cavorting with the enemy during the Vietnam war.. Better had she made her protest visible on the white house lawn. To-days protesters are driven by the consistently
failed policies of the administration and its lack of credibility. As Americans, we are morally bound to stand up to those we truly believe are leading the country into disasterous circumstances and that includes presidents as well. I'll bet there were government big wigs in China who were quick to pin the Liberal Weenie label on the little guy who faced down that tank in Tiennemen Square . So how about it? The new "straight" way forward could just catch on.
