What's in a name?

Al Qaida, in its infinite wisdom, is forcing street venders in Iraq to separate to-matoes and cucumbers because they are of different genders. I don't know which are the boys and which are the girls, but apparently its the difference that counts.
These are the folks we hope to bring to the table in peacful negotiation. Now I don't mean to disparage anybody's faith here, because after all, diversity is the soul of Democracy, but there is reason to question the successful outcome of such negotiations with people who gender classify their fruits and vegetables. We do have our own odd classifications in the White House and the Congress, the naming of which depends upon which side of the aisle you support.
Can you envision going up to a vegetable vender, pointing to a cuke and saying, "I'll tke two of those bad boys there"
There may be a new day dawning in Iraq, but I shudder to think of what it might bring.
