Don't knock it

Let us embrace Memorial Day for what it is, a coming to-gether in rememberance of
people, places and happenings that have gone before us. A day of respect and paying of homage to the past. That said, I would like to propose that we consider setting aside one day a year dedicated to 'forgetting'. One day when we don't think about wars, gasoline prices, illegal aliens, global warming and everything else that depresses and
frightens us. Really now, is that such an unreasonable idea? One whole day free of stress and worry.I'm not sure if we can handle such a day, but how do we know unless we try? I'm in the process of compiling of things and people I'd like to forget just in case such a day comes to pass, not the least of which is "Everybody Loves Raymond" re-runs and presidential wannabes promising us the moon and less of everything that bugs us. Just one lousy day. Is that asking too much?
