Walking the talk
Am I imagining things or does it seem that we, the long suffering and enduring public, are being subjected to an inordinate number of 'touchy feely' puff pieces in the media lately regarding our "responsibilities" and adherence to "family values" according to whoever is in the batters box that day. Politicians and clergymen in particular, are constantly in our faces about adhering to the moral codes and political agendas they deem to be our only way to salvation and self-aggrandizement. Well, fair enough, I suppose, but may I be so bold as to suggest that we add a little spice to the stew? How about these paragons of virtue and undeniable truths showing us a paid receipt for the dues they have paid in personal credibility and honest endeavor to warrant our trust? It's gotten to the point that whenever someone gets on a band stand to drudge up support for one cause or another, we find ourselves groping to see if our wallets are still there. Public gullibility has become a way of life, but we need only to follow one rule to change that...and as soon as I learn what that is, I'll let you know.
