Letter to the editor

The Auburn City Council has been talking for months about the building of a skate park and as of this writing the idea hasn't moved 'off the ice.' Parents and kids alike have been pushing for such a park only to be stone walled at every turn. Simply put, there is no place for kids to skate and if truth be known, adults wouldn't mind having a place to showcase their Olympic dreams either. Well, parental dreams aside, it' s really all about the kids and providing them with a safe and healthful outlet away from the every day burdens of whatever kids would rather not.endure, boredom being one of them. The City Council needs to quit stalling on this issue and do the right thing by our young people who will one day grow up to be voters and THEN they will wish they had.

It's been on ice long enough.
