Fools rush in
There is a fine line to be drawn between a philosopher and a fool. The philosopher
always knows what to do about a given situation...until it happens to him. The fool,
on the underhand, has the advantage of not knowing the situation exists in the first place.Take the situation in Iraq for example.....please! The arm chair philosophers
and political pundits are bumping heads in a frenzied attempt to explain why we
are mired down in a war we cannot justify in a place we are not welcome for a cause that seems to fluxuate according to who touts it. We are told that we are disloyal cowards if we don't belly up to the bar in support of the war. That anyone should dare suggest that maybe, just maybe, oil might be the root reason for our involvement, would be almost as blasphemous as calling Dick Cheney a philanthropist . Almost. We are being held hostage by the notion that we are fighting the war on terror in Iraq. Any day now, we expect Osama Bin Laden to rear his head in Baghdad where he will be summarily dispatched by one of George Bush's 'dead or alive' hit. squads. That's what the phiolosophers tell us. We fools know better.
