What else is new?

When trying to learn how much our government is paying for private security in Iraq, I have been told that the figures were not known or in one case, "very steep". When trying to determine how many private guards there were, the answers were somewhere between 50,000 and over 100,000. I also wanted to know what, if any, oversight the U.S. military had on the conduct of this private army in dealing with Iraqi citizens. Unless I have been terribly misinformed, the answer was little or none, mostly none. If there is anyone out there who can provide more information, accurate information, please let
the rest of us know. It has only been recently revealed that we were buying private security in Iraq and now that we are in the loop, surely it would be reasonable for the American people know all the facts. 'Facts' are something this administration has
constantly given us in short supply from the git go, beginning with the 'weapons of mass destruction ' fiasco'. The recent killings of civilians by private security forces have never
been convincingy explained or justified to anybody's satisfaction, Will there ever be an end to this nightmare?
