More ado about little
In Wednesday night's Republican debate there were a few interesting moments. When Senator Ron Paul, in one of his anti-war remarks, commented on the folly of the Vietnam war and its culmination in our defeat, Senator John McCain responded, with some heat, that the United States never lost a battle in Vietnam. It struck me as odd how you can lose a war without ever losing a battle. McCain seems determined to justify our invasion of Iraq and maintains an assumption that he is best qualified to do so. I thought the best performance of the night was given by Mike Huckabee, whose responses to questions were straight forward and had a ring of honesty to them . spot light. Giuliani is at his top form when touting his accomplishments as Mayor of New York, which in fact were commendable. Romney was impressively candid when explaining his switch from pro choice to pro life, concluding that anybody is entitled to change his mind. Fred Thompson looked like a man who was just along for the ride, but don't count him out yet. All in all it was an entertaining interlude and much to my surprise, there weren't many shots taken at Hillary, a short reprieve, I'm sure.
