Stifle sooner

While listening to senator Barack Obama's Richmond Virginia campaign speech, I found myself growing restless and anxious for him to wrap it up. No matter how engrossing and inspiring the message, there comes the time when the speech maker needs to put a sock in it and sit down. Brevity is almost never the politician's long suit, no matter who they are or which party they represent.. No fair person can deny that Obama is a powerful and electrifying orator, but audiences are prone to becoming bored, when the drone goes on too long. Senator John McCain has a tendency to spend too much time patting himself on the back and would be better served letting his record speak for itself. Mitt Romney drew the most yawns when he nattered on about taxes ad nauseum and sounded more like a board certified accountant than a presidential candidate. Mike Huckabee was arguably the most fun to watch, with his one liners and down home humor. He too began to cause eyes to water when he started spouting the party line and accusing the other side of 'surrendering' to the insurgents.

Sen. Hillary Clinton, in her well-rehearsed presentations, gave a pretty decent account of herself......up until it began to wither with the passage of too much time. The long and the short of my meanderings is that, we the long suffering American voters, are willing to hear what the candidates have to say, only that they take less time to say it. Please.
