Resolutions and other nonsense

Its that tiresome time of year when New Years resolutions become a blight upon the land ad nauseum. This is where we divest ourselves of the bad vibes of the old year and embrace the good, if futile, intentions of the new. Those of us who have been around the block more times than we care to dwell on, know what a waste of time it is to make promises we know we won't or can't keep , but still, there is a force that compels us to make the effort. As a nation, we vow to promote peace and tranquility around the world and to create a better life for all. some of us look to our faith for guidance and inspiration, others turn to our elected officials to successfully plough the fields of enrichment and justice for everyone.....and some of us just go on believing the tooth fairy will save us all. However we approach it, the bottom line desire is that the coming year will be the one the previous one should have been if only we had pushed the right buttons.

Well, we can just put a sock in it and put the past behind us, because hope does spring eternal and we may as well gird up for another shot at those good buttons. Who knows, this time we might just get it right.
