Where there's a will

I do believe its time to halt the charade that, despite minor differences in policy, our two political parties are basically alike, because it just isn't so. The conservative right wing of the Republican party and the liberal leaning branch of the Democratic party are as different as apples and oranges, or more to the point, saints and sinners. I have always contended that the ultra right wing of ANY political entity represented greed and self interest in its vilest form and had little or no concern for the welfare of the common man, 'welfare' being a key component here. Any form of the word 'WELFARE' tends to raise the hackles of the "don't tax me" crowd', especially the obscenely wealthy members who would go to the gallows to avoid paying the tab in any free lunch endeavor, inner city school meals included. "All right", you might be thinking, "what about those touchy feely, bleeding heart, tax loving liberal weenies who want to hand our freedom loving land over to the ethnic scourges and Taliban terrorists"? How then, can we reconcile our differences and provide the kind of leadership we hard working, loyal American citizens deserve? How, indeed. Aside from the emergence of a third party yet to be formulated, we'd probably better just duke it out between us and when issues become so convoluted that no clear winner is possible, compromise (cop out?) by falling back on the wisdom of past political icons, such as Ronald Reagan or Harry Truman. Between Reagan's trickle down economics and Harry's unleashing the atom bombs, the right course is bound to be evident. God bless and save America.
