Whatever works

James Ross of Norcross, says, in his letter "America doesn't need Obama's socialized health care plan, that we should all make every effort to defeat it. Despite some glitches in the plan, countries like Great Britain, Canada, France and others
seem to be doing okay with it.There are far too many Americans that currently have no medical coverage at all and therein lies the problem.Socialized medicine may not be everybody's cup of tea, but it beats having no medical coverage and therefore no health care at all and that situation applies to far too many of our citizens. Like it or not, socialism, to one degree or another, is interwoven into the fabric of most democratic systems of government and it has been so on this continent from the time the pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock.I believe it is the height of naivety to believe otherwise unless we can properly assign another label to social security or Medicare. As long as there remains such great disparities in wealth and opportunity between the citizens of the world , there will be those (the haves) who will strive to keep it that way, and those (the have nots) who will try to level the playing field. Revolutions, peaceful or otherwise, are often the basic product of such conditions.Americans will ultimately decide what system of health care they prefer and will, for the most part, not give a tinkers damn what name you give it as long as it keeps us well.
