Come again?
Recent events have convinced me that I have really gotten old or have been living on the edge of never-never land for the past few years. When did it come to pass that the duly elected President of these United States and by a substantial margin of victory at that, should be denied access to the nation's classrooms? Since when are parents being asked by politicians of the losing party,( yes, believe it or not, they did lose,).to not allow their children to listen to, or go one on one with President Obama in his recent visit to a public school. I don't recall that happening in the past, ever. The reason given, and it is a hum dinger, is that President Obama may contaminate their off-spring with his politics. Duh .It must have been all those voting aged high school kids that would drive him too it. I won't further insult your intellegence by mentioning the newest right wing nut accusation of Obama being a card carrying communist. I know of no politician in recent times to have undergone such in-depth inspection of and probing into his personal life. You may ask why this is if you enjoy listening to responses that rate right up there with Comedy Central. Of course none of these "reasons" have 'racial' undertones. They never do, of course.Being an old fashioned sceptic does not leave me bereft of respect for our President, whoever he may be, until he has unequivocably proven to be unworthy of that respect. I just wonder if those who actually listened to what the President had to say to the kids who he did get to meet, they might just ........well, I guess that will depend upon how thoroughly their party has brain-washed THEM. Like I said, I'm probably well past my sell-buy date, so I'm just gonna sit back and watch the show. We are awash in a sea of mendacity.
