It's the kids, damn it
I am an 83 year old man living in a complex world and I have an axe to rind. There are enough problems for this country to solve without me adding to the mess, but the one at the top of the list to me is the education dilemma. How do we go about guiding our kids into the next decade and into the next century to insure their future and help them to catapult this nation to its rightful destination without bankrupting the system and leaving us playing second fiddle and runners-up to countries with nowhere near the power and wealth that we employ. What we have is rampant partisanship and childish character assassination left with nothing to commend it, but ultimate failure and humiliation.I don't care whether you're a Republican, Democrat or a card carrying yellow bellied sap sucker with. We can only lose the ball with these tactics. Smaller, weaker nations have already begun to leave us in the lurch through better planning, better ideas and better personnel. we seem to be more focussed on party and taking turns how to play mind games with pork and attitude. I care not one whit what party you represent or whether or not you hail from Minneapolis or Dog Patch, the fundamental basis for saving the bacon for our children will be competence and perseverance and for the life of me, I don't understand why our illustrious congress doesn't put aside the rancor and break out the bi-partisan genes we expected them to have when we elected them. It's about the kids, damn it, IT'S THE KIDS!
